On Vancouver Island, location is often the main selling point: an ocean view in Cordova Bay, a short walk to Willows Beach, acreage in the Highlands. Ground-level photos can't show that. Drone photography can — in a single frame.

What aerial photos show that ground photos can't

  • Lot size and boundaries. Buyers instantly see how much land comes with the house.
  • Proximity. Distance to the water, parks, schools, and downtown becomes obvious.
  • Roof, yard, and outbuildings. Garden suites, workshops, and pools look their best from above.
  • Neighbourhood context. A clear property pin marks exactly which home is for sale.

When drone is worth it — and when it isn't

Aerials add the most value for detached homes, waterfront and view properties, acreages, new developments, and commercial buildings. They add less for a mid-floor condo with no view — there, interior photos, a floor plan, and a virtual tour do more work.

Twilight aerials: the scroll-stopper

The Luxury package is scheduled near sunset. Warm interior light against a deep blue sky makes a home stand out in a feed of daytime photos. If your shoot happened in daylight, the AI Day-to-Night add-on ($49 per transformation) creates a similar effect.

What about BC drone rules?

In Canada, drones are regulated by Transport Canada. Commercial drone pilots must hold a valid pilot certificate and fly a registered drone, and flights in controlled airspace — for example near Victoria International Airport or the Victoria Harbour water aerodrome — require authorization from NAV CANADA. Parks, crowds, and some restricted zones have extra limits. This is why hiring a licensed operator matters: Reshot handles airspace checks and permissions as part of the booking, so you don't have to.

Weather on the Island

Grey skies are common from October to April. Every full package includes the Blue Sky Guarantee — exterior photos are delivered with a clear blue sky even if the day was overcast. Strong wind or rain can still delay a flight; if that happens, we reschedule the aerial portion.
